Recently, I blew a voiceover audition- I’m talking total crash & burn. Not “Crash Into Me is my JAM” crash, but more like, “WTF were were the Oscars thinking when they made ‘Crash’ a best picture winner” crash. It was pretty dang bad.

The World Outside Of My World

Earlier this week, for the first time in years, I had auditions scheduled in actual recording studios.

Up until now, my audition regimen went something like this:

  • Receive an emailed audition from an agent
  • Step into my home studio and record the audition
  • Email the audition to my agent
  • Go back to watching Netflix

Daniel Bryan retired this week. For those not in the know, Daniel Bryan may have been the best “started from the bottom now we here” story in professional wrestling history. You can imagine my surprise when I woke up to these words in an email a few days ago (uncensored, of course)- my first experience with an internet troll. Everyone’s first experience with a troll is unique. For those who don’t know, an internet troll’s MO is to get a rise out of people by making vile, derogatory comments. I had three responses to reading these kind words. First, there was total confusion, followed by amusement, followed by, “I have GOT to get this into a blog post somehow.” Read more…

Don’t Go Straight-To-DVD

Flipping through the channels on my TV recently, I came across the movie “A Christmas Story 2.” For those who don’t know, this would be the straight-to-DVD sequel to the undisputed greatest Christmas movie of all time, “A Christmas Story”- I will fight anyone who doesn’t share my opinion on the greatness that is “A Christmas Story.”.

While I didn’t have high expectations, since there was nothing else on, I decided to give the remote a rest and see just how long I could watch this movie without changing the channel. Read more…
